Studying marine biology is like unlocking the secrets of an alien world—right here on Earth. If you’ve ever been mesmerised by the ocean, dolphins, coral reefs, or the vast mystery of the deep, marine biology might be your calling. There has never been a more important time to understanding ocean life. As global temperatures rise and humans continue to impact the planet, understanding and protecting ocean life is critical. Did you know that phytoplankton and seagrasses are an even bigger source of oxygen production than the Amazon Rainforest, producing 60-80 per cent of the world’s oxygen? Here at Careerline Courses we make studying marine biology online easy.

Perhaps you have more specialised aquatic interests that are equally as important. Have you ever been interested in turning your small outdoor space into a thriving food source via aquaponics? Or perhaps starting a larger commercial venture in fish farming? Sustainable food production is a burgeoning industry as humanity looks for alternatives to sustain our expanding population. More than three billion people rely on seafood as their major source of protein. Approximately 17 per cent of the world’s animal protein comes from seafood, half of which is now sustainably sourced from aquaculture. Studying fish farming and aquaponics online with Careerline Courses will provide you with the knowledge to start your commercial aquaculture operation or self-sufficient lifestyle today!

Online courses (tutor-supported)

100-hours: one month full-time or up to 12 months part-time

Each tutor-driven online course takes approximately 100 hours of study applied flexibly over a 12-month period. This means you can tailor your study around your lifestyle, with a minimum part-time requirement of two hours of online study per week over the year, or you can fast-track your science career by completing your course within a month or so of full-time study.

Each lesson requires you to submit a written assessment to your tutor for feedback, enhancing your learning experience by verifying your ongoing engagement with the course materials. This ensures you are not tempted to skip over a lesson that could provide vital knowledge in your field of study. There are also non-assessable, self-assessment quizzes for each lesson to help test your knowledge. This means that by the end of the course you will have really engaged with the course materials, which we know equals learning!

Short courses (self-directed)

Our short courses offer excellent value for money and an introduction into your field of study. They are self-directed learning packages, which means they don’t offer the same tutor-support as our online courses but can offer greater flexibility and economy while still providing you with the desired learning outcomes and a certificate of completion at the end of your study.
