Study an online science course today and begin your journey towards a career in science!

What is science?

Science studies how the universe works, from the tiniest particles to the largest cosmic structures. Science explores the composition, functions, and interactions of living organisms as well as the properties of rocks, minerals, and soil. It also investigates our place in the universe, the principles of motion, the behaviour of light and sound, and how technology operates. It is broadly broken into subcategories of physical sciences, earth sciences and life sciences. Science has different subcategories within these subcategories to help us narrow down the nature of the world around us.

Why study science online?

Our online science courses can deepen your knowledge within your chosen profession or open the door to further study. We offer practical, applied science courses online, as well as theoretical online science courses to build foundational knowledge in your chosen career, to cover knowledge gaps from previous study or prepare you for further science study in the future. Science offers diverse career paths in fields like environmental sciences, zoology, water management, information technology, alternative energy production, botany, astronomy, physics, biology, anatomy and physiology, artificial intelligence and biochemistry, just to name a few. By starting with the basics in your field of interest, you can build a strong foundation towards your career in science or simply work to develop your personal knowledge of the world we live in.

Do I need prior experience?

No, our online science courses assume no prior knowledge and are designed as a practical guide to help you learn. If you elect to study a 100-hour online course, you will be supported by your tutor as you progress through your studies.

What kind of online science courses do you offer?

We offer a range of online science courses, from the very practical, job-centred courses to more abstract sciences. Our online, tutor-supported courses require 100-hours of commitment over a 12-month period, while our self-directed short courses offer a shorter commitment. We offer courses across the categories of:

Physical sciences

  • Physics
  • Alternative energy production
  • Artificial intelligence (short course)
  • Statistics (short course)

Earth sciences

  • Earth Science
  • Flood mitigation

Life sciences

  • Medical terminology
  • Biology
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Zoology
  • Biochemistry
  • Plants: botany and biochemistry

Who are our science courses for?

Our online science courses are practical and efficient for those seeking to increase their professional knowledge or broaden their general knowledge, either for personal interest or to pursue further study. Our courses are of interest to:

  • Zoo attendants
  • Animal attendants
  • Medical administration workers
  • Council employees and councillors
  • Gardeners and landscapers
  • Science writers
  • Private investigators
  • Data analysts
  • Anyone wanting to dip their toe into abstract sciences before committing to a degree-length course!

Course format and duration

Online courses (tutor-supported)

One month full-time or up to 12 months part-time

Each tutor-driven online course takes approximately 100 hours of study applied flexibly over a 12-month period. This means you can tailor your study around your lifestyle, with a minimum part-time requirement of two hours of online study per week over the year, or you can fast-track your science career by completing your course within a month or so of full-time study.

Each lesson requires you to submit a written assessment to your tutor for feedback, enhancing your learning experience by verifying your ongoing engagement with the course materials. This ensures you are not tempted to skip over a lesson that could provide vital knowledge in your field of study. There are also non-assessable, self-assessment quizzes for each lesson to help test your knowledge. This means that by the end of the course you will have really engaged with the course materials, which we know equals learning!

Short courses (self-directed)

Our short courses offer excellent value for money and an introduction into your field of study. They are self-directed learning packages, which means they don’t offer the same tutor-support as our online courses but can offer greater flexibility and economy while still providing you with the desired learning outcomes and a certificate of completion at the end of your study.

Who are the tutors?

You will get a one-on-one tutor who 100-hour online science courses. You will be supported every step of the way. When you enrol you will receive a welcome email from your tutor. You are free to email them for help or guidance as much as you need to. We employ tutors who are active in their field, so the support is by email.

What if I have questions while I’m studying online?

If you have any questions about course material, contact the tutor you are assigned at enrolment. They are available for one-on-one support for the duration of your course. For administrative questions, contact our dedicated student support.

Accreditation and Recognition

All our courses are proudly recognised by International Accreditation & Recognition Council (IARC), a premier non-government recognition body.  The IARC ensures member universities and course providers meet premium standards, quality and consistency in their course provision in Commonwealth and Pacific nations.
